Residential Interiors

Our approach to residential design begins with an extensive client questionnaire. It serves to begin to identify clients' needs, likes and dislikes. Most importantly, it is a vehicle to allow clients to clearly express what they want out of the design process. We are committed to producing unique and personal interior and exterior living spaces that inspire and comfort our clients, and by doing so, help them reach their personal goals to feel more attached to their living environment.

Do-It-Yourself Design Book

For clients who want to tackle the execution of their project themselves, we create a complete Do-It-Yourself Design Book. The book provides images, schematic drawings, recommended installations and furniture layouts necessary to fix and describe the character of the project. The book is organized room-by-room and includes suggested paint color palettes, window treatment ideas, fabric swatches, storage/organization ideas, art and accessories and helpful articles for each area. Each room is accompanied by a comprehensive “To Do” list keeping the client’s priorities in mind. This list outlines the scope of work and which trade (i.e. painter, carpenter, etc.) will be responsible for each item. These lists help clients fit their project within their budget and schedule.

Commercial/Hospitality Conceptual Design & Interiors

Marla Henderson Design Group offers a unique approach to conceptualizing and managing complex commercial and hospitality design projects. In recent years, the democratization of design has changed the way we live, work and play. People have come to expect and value good design in nearly everything they see and touch. MHDG works closely with developers and clients to identify a project’s core values and business objectives to create a Conceptual Design that integrates a project’s interiors with architecture, landscape design, graphic/web design and marketing/pr strategy. From pre-design through construction, this integrative approach ensures that the project’s design concept remains intact in all design disciplines to execute a clear design identity. A clear identity translates into distinctive projects instilled with beauty, vitality and value.
